Every college, university, job training program, or other postsecondary institution faces unique challenges—and dismantling systemic barriers to learning is a massive undertaking in any environment. Without a clear and powerful strategy for implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL), postsecondary leaders risk seeing their initiatives stall or fail to deliver lasting change.

This instructor-led online course equips postsecondary leaders with the essential, high-impact, tools and strategies necessary to move beyond the classroom and start driving successful, institution-wide transformation. Over an eight week period, you will learn how to critically analyze institutional practices, support informed decision-making, and outline the steps needed to drive positive systems change and address learner variability.

This course follows a Community of Practice (CoP) model, where you can bring your specific “problems of practice” from your own institution and experience. These real-world challenges will fuel discussions and collaborative brainstorming, allowing you and your peers to develop and refine actionable solutions that can be applied across different learning environments.

With this course you’ll establish a lasting professional network and gain the frameworks and confidence to lead significant, inclusive change, walking away with a refined, actionable plan for implementing UDL as a powerful lever for institutional transformation.

Upon course completion, participants are eligible to submit a portfolio to receive the Supporting UDL Implementation in Postsecondary Education Credential.

Prerequisite: Participation requires the successful completion of our course Postsecondary: Introduction to Universal Design for Learning (Instructor-Led).

What you will learn

  • Best practices for UDL implementation and tactics to address barriers and understand the user experience.
  • Strategies to redesign the core components of a curriculum using UDL and evaluate the impact.
  • Tools to analyze learning experiences to help yourself and others understand where the barriers to learning are, and how to address them.
  • Different methods of bringing pedagogical theories and practices into learning design to improve the social nature of learning.

Registration

Fee: $950 per person; includes Supporting UDL Implementation in Postsecondary Education Credential.
Session Duration: Live sessions are between June 15, 2026 and August 7, 2026. You will continue to have access to the course material for reference and review until February 28, 2027.
