Universal Design for Learning, accessibility, and inclusive educational innovation return to Palm Springs.
Following the successful launch of UDL-Con at Spring CUE 2026, CAST and CALIE (California Association for Leading Innovation in Education) are continuing their partnership for Spring Forward 2027, taking place March 18-20, 2027, in Palm Springs, California. The expanded collaboration will bring together district administrators, educators, school leaders, instructional coaches, and technology innovators to explore how Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility, and inclusive technology can improve outcomes for all learners.
As schools work to meet increasingly diverse learner needs while navigating rapid advances in technology and AI, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to designing learning environments that are flexible, accessible, and learner-centered from the start.

“The enthusiasm we saw for UDL, accessibility, and inclusive innovation made it clear that educators are looking for practical approaches that put learners at the center,” said Lindsay Jones, CEO of CAST. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with CALIE and help increase learning experiences that remove barriers and expand opportunities for all learners.”
“Our collaboration with CAST has created a powerful opportunity to connect innovation with inclusive practice,” said Christine Feenstra, Executive Director, CALIE. “As we look ahead to Spring Forward 2027, we’re excited to deepen those conversations and support educators as they navigate the future of teaching and learning.”
Together, CAST and CALIE are helping educators bridge research, technology, accessibility, and instructional design to create learning experiences that recognize and support learner variability. Attendees can expect engaging sessions, practical strategies, and meaningful connections focused on creating schools where every learner can thrive.
CAST will offer two interactive preconference workshops* designed for educators and leaders looking to strengthen accessibility and inclusive instructional design practices.
