As the creators of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, CAST has long applied UDL principles to engage research participants and design inclusive data collection processes, though these practices have not previously been systematically documented. This analysis examines how intentionally embedding UDL into research design can increase participation, improve participant experience, and produce richer, more meaningful data for research and innovation.
