Melissa is dedicated to transforming education so every learner can succeed. As the Senior Director of Professional Learning and Implementation, she leads the team that empowers educators, leaders, and coaches—locally and globally—to apply the Universal Design for Learning Framework to build inclusive, equitable learning environments.
Melissa brings her experience as a teacher, licensed social worker, school leader and school designer to the work. She has spent much of her career refining personalized instruction, shifting to competency-based models, building trauma-informed school environments, implementing social and emotional learning, and instituting restorative justice practices for service to off-track youth. She believes strongly education and has passion for working with students for whom the traditional system did not work.
