Elisa Torres-Barton, is a UDL Implementation Specialist for the California Coalition for Inclusive Literacy (CCIL). Anchored in the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, Elisa partners with educators in the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, supporting refinement and implementation of equitable and inclusive practices.

Elisa is a daughter of immigrants from the Dominican Republic and feels honored to live the dream her parents greatly sacrificed to create. Throughout her life, relentless and courageous educators played a crucial role in her life. To pay it forward, Elisa strives to co-create human-centered systems that can do the same for others. Over her 23 years in education, Elisa has served as a math teacher, instructional coach, site, district, and county leader.

When not working on CCIL, Elisa enjoys laughing with her family and watching America’s Funniest Videos (Well, the teenagers oblige mom, but the toddler loves it!).
