    Senior U.S. Department of Education officials visit CAST and local schools that practice UDL during "Opportunity Across America" Back-to-School Bus Tour. Sue Swenson, acting assistant secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), and Ruth Ryder, acting director of the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), will visit CAST on Tuesday afternoon for a “Learning and Listening” roundtable discussion of hot-button topics such as ways to improve K-12 literacy instruction, assessment, classroom products, and teacher preparation to make schools more inclusive and effective.

    This project extends a CAST/SRI Google App-based curriculum and technology innovation called Corgi(Co-Organize Learning with the Google Interface) to improve STEM learning and higher-order thinking for middle students with learning disabilities and their typically developing peers in general education STEM courses.

    CAST and the University of Kansas have created Corgi, an innovative suite of tools that marks the next generation of information and graphic organizers. These tools support students to organize and co-organize their learning by engaging with graphic organizers in a digital, flexible, Google App environment that can be integrated into any learning environment.
