    Project Raise is an NSF funded project partnering with University of Massachusetts-Amherst, the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES), and the Department of Youth Services (DYS) to create an innovative new model for teaching science to incarcerated youth.

    STEMfolio, a tool developed by the CEE-STEM project team, will provide young people who have often struggled in traditional schools with a personalized, universally designed way to build foundational knowledge, demonstrate their learning, explore and engage in potential STEM career pathways of interest.

    2018–2022

    CAST, along with partners from SRI International and the Inclusive Design Research Centre, are creating tools to ensure that K-12 students with disabilities get engaging, high-quality accessible digital learning materials, especially open education resources (OERs). The products and resources developed by CISL will enable teachers to customize instruction for the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

    2012–2016

    CAST, the University of Kansas’s Center for Research on Learning, and the National Association of State Directors of Special Education have partnered on a five-year initiative to research how online learning can be made more accessible, engaging, and effective for K-12 learners with disabilities.

    We're leading a field-building initiative to stimulate, support, and sustain best practices in UDL education program design, product development, and classroom instruction to meet the growing global demand for UDL as a design framework that recognizes variability among all learners.

    The AccessATE project goal is to support the ATE community and provide grantees with the tools and knowledge to increase the accessibility and usability of their resources and activities. CAST will be providing technical assistance on accessibility and Universal Design for Learning to ATE Centers and ATE research grants.
