But are we creating unintentional barriers in the technology choices we make? Find out the things to look for and questions to ask to ensure that we include all learners.
  • Design Thinking and UDL: Connecting the Dots
    Monday, June 24, 8:30–9:30 am ET; Location: 120A
    Panelists: Amanda Armstrong, Sean Arnold, Rhianon Gutierrez, Mindy Johnson, and Luis Pérez
    This panel will explore the intersections of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Design Thinking. Presenters will include a designer of educational games for children, as well as Inclusive Learning Network members who will share how design thinking and UDL inform the inclusive design of their lessons and activities.
  • Inclusive by Design: Exploring the Connections between UDL and Design Thinking

    Playground Committee: Sean Arnold, Helen DeWaard, Jennifer Edge-Savage, Timothy Frey, Kendra Grant, Rhianon Gutierrez, Mindy Johnson, and Luis Pérez
    The purpose of the Inclusive Learning Network Playground is to provide ISTE Conference participants with hands-on professional learning experiences in using technology to reduce barriers and increase engagement for all learners. This year's playground will focus on the Intersection of Design Thinking and Universal Design for Learning.
  • Two Design Frameworks to Support Emotions and Learning
    Tuesday, June 25, 3:15–4:15 pm ET; Location: 113A
    Presenter: Allison Posey
    Participants will explore two tools that empower educators to design learning experiences that tap into the power of emotion: the Mood Meter and the Universal Design for Learning framework. We will share how these tools have been integrated into classrooms to support student autonomy and engagement in rigorous learning experiences.
