CAST, in collaboration with Jobs for the Future and the Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership, is piloting an approach to documenting prior learning for persons with disabilities in the industrial maintenance technician apprenticeship pathway. This pilot will be part of the Apprenticeship Inclusion Models (AIM) initiative sponsored by the US Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) to research, develop, test, and evaluate innovative strategies in existing apprenticeship programs that provide skills training to people with disabilities. This project will build off of CAST’s previous work on STEMFolio, a National Science Foundation-funded effort to develop and research a personalized and portable e-portfolio to help at-risk youth access STEM careers.
