CAST is pleased to welcome Wendy Scott Keeney as Chief Development Officer (CDO).  In this role, Wendy will oversee all efforts large and small across the organization to build a pipeline of diverse funding opportunities for CAST and a robust portfolio.

Wendy comes to CAST with 26 years of experience managing every aspect of large grant programs, philanthropic outreach, marketing/communications, and business development.  She has conceived and executed capital campaigns, as well as created development operations from the ground up.

Wendy’s skill set has been honed at large research universities, bench-science organizations, foundations, and non-profits in the realm of international science collaboration.   Her prior “clients” include the University of Michigan, the Scripps Research Institute, and CRDF Global.

Wendy has also consulted to and worked in international settings (lived abroad for 15 years) and is adept at navigating the opportunities for development abroad.  She has been successful at integrating marketing and philanthropy to enhance internal and external messaging and is no novice to the importance of building boards’ awareness of their fundraising responsibilities.

Wendy’s undergraduate work focused on art history with a minor in sciences and her master’s work was in cultural anthropology.

In Wendy’s own words: “CAST intrigues me on several levels. It is an organization that exists to bring learning to everyone.  My entire career in philanthropy has focused on support for education, in one form or another.  Without the tools to learn, no one can succeed in life.”
