Come see UDL in action and learn from educators who regularly implement UDL in their K-12 classrooms! Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) in Columbus, IN, has been an innovative leader in the implementation of Universal Design for Learning district-wide for over a decade. CAST is the founder of Universal Design for Learning and has been advancing the field of designing effective instruction for all learners for over 3 decades. In this unique partnership, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding about UDL implementation from a very practical application perspective and to see classrooms where educators have proactively and purposefully integrated UDL into their instructional experiences.
Participants will spend the first day working with CAST facilitators and BCSC educators who implement UDL on a daily basis, gaining tips and strategies to design for all learners. The second day is an opportunity to visit elementary, middle, and high school classrooms to observe many applications of UDL implementation in real-time. Students, administrators and educators from BCSC will share practical design strategies as well as explore the impact UDL has on their own and student learning. BCSC district leaders will also be available to answer questions and share their UDL implementation journeys.
We encourage teams of educators, administrators, district leaders, coaches, curriculum designers, technology specialists, and education specialists to join us in this unique opportunity to engage in practice-based discussions about UDL implementation.
