Image Finder Tutorial

2. Save Image

There are two ways to save a Web image. One way is to save it directly to your desktop or network server in order to use it in another application. For this tutorial, we'll use the Google Image Search engine. When you find an image you like, save the image using the following instructions, then enter the filename of your image and the Web site in which you found it below.

  1. After viewing the results of your image search on Google, go to the Web site that actually contains the image by copying and pasting the Web site address into your browser. Paste this Web site address below as well.
  2. Right click (PC) or hold your mouse down (Mac) on the image.
  3. Choose "Save Picture As" or "Save Image As".

  4. Navigate to the folder in which you wish to save the image.
  5. Rename the image with something meaningful and memorable, keeping the extension (.jpg or .gif) intact and leaving no spaces between words.
  6. Save the image.
  7. Keep track of the Web site (located in the Address field at the top of your browser) along with the filename of your image.
