Curriculum Barriers Tool

The Curriculum Barriers Tool helps you analyze barriers for your students in your curriculum materials and methods.

Mentor Icon The Curriculum Barriers Mentor offers related background information and models to clarify, explain, and demonstrate the concepts and their implementation.

To analyze the barriers your students might face, you need to consider their strengths, needs, and interests next to the methods and materials you use. You can use this tool on its own, or import the notes you have developed on your students in the Class Learning Profile.

There are four parts to this tool:

  1. List methods, materials and assessments in your curriculum, unit or lesson

  2. List student strengths, needs, or interests

  3. Identify potential barriers

  4. Wrap up
