Collecting Images Model Three: Creating Image Web Links
Another way to provide students with access to images is to create hotlists of image Web links. This will preserve hard drive space and retain the location of the image for proper crediting, but will require that your and your students be online in order to view the image.
Here is the process a 10th grade science teacher might use to create image Web links for students to access during a study of the solar system:
1. Create a word processing document and save it where students can access it easily 2. Find suitable images on the Web. Some search engines, such as Google, Lycos, and AltaVista, allow you to limit your search to images.
3. Save the image URL (the Web address of the image), then paste it into a word processing document as a hyperlink. 4. Insert captions next to the links so students can decide which images they want to view online.
