Images in the Curriculum

Finding Images

Digital images are everywhere! Collecting them for your and your students’ use can add power to your curriculum and get your students actively involved in their work. A digital camera or a scanner for printed images you or your students take yourselves are great ways to create highly personal, relevant images for use in your classroom. Other sources include collections on CD ROM and on the web. Examples of sources include:

Absolute Web Graphics Archive
Photodisc (also available on CD ROM)

You can store image collections in folders on a hard drive or on a server in a networked school. These can become resources for you in future years and others in the school who are working on related projects. In a fully networked environment with easy Web access, you can simply store pinters to images to use when presenting concepts or in student projects.
