Methods

three students in computer lab

Methods are the actions the teacher takes to facilitate student learning. Ms. Randall expands her traditional instructional approaches to teaching this lesson to include Universal Deign for Learning approaches in her instructional methods.

Ms. Randall decided that the methodology for this lesson should be divided into three sections-Introduce, Guide, and Close. She first considered what a traditional lesson presentation should be and then determined ways in which the lesson could be designed to incorporate the Universal Design for Learning perspective. Her goal is to make the lesson more accessible and flexible in order to motivate students who are struggling in math and who have had little or no experience with probability.
