Methods

Methods are the actions the teacher takes to facilitate student learning. Mr. Garcia expands his traditional instructional approaches to teaching this lesson to include Universal Deign for Learning approaches in his instructional methods.

Mr. Garcia decided that the methodology for this lesson should be divided into three sections: Introduce, Guide, and Close. He first considered what a traditional lesson presentation should be and then determined ways in which the lesson could be designed to incorporate the Universal Design for Learning perspective. His goal is to make the lesson more accessible and flexible in order to motivate students who are not engaged in the learning process to write an article for submission to the school newspaper.
