    CAST and partners awarded $5 million to design software to adapt and customize digital materials for students with disabilities.

  • The CISL software suite includes authoring of OERs, a reader/player to access OERS, and a discovery tool connected to a personalize-able global preferences database.

    2018–2022

    CAST, along with partners from SRI International and the Inclusive Design Research Centre, will be exploring and creating tools to ensure that K-12 students with disabilities get engaging, high-quality accessible digital learning materials, especially open education resources (OERs). The products and resources developed by CISL will enable teachers to customize instruction for the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

    This webinar is for families and educators new to accessible educational materials. The first half of the session will include an overview of legal issues, the changing language of AEM, a decision-making process for determining which students need for AEM, and steps to take to address their needs. The second half of the session will be devoted to addressing questions and comments from participants. Follow-up resources will be shared.
