    Text leveling is a process in which text is modified manually by a human to be simpler or more complex to fit a student’s reading skills. Text leveling is beneficial because educators can match reading materials to individual learners’ skill levels.

    Would you like to make reading more accessible for all of your learners? Consider publishing your own EPUB books or documents. This flexible format supports the customization needed to meet the needs of today's diverse readers. With EPUB, learners can adjust the text size and depending on the reader application, choose different fonts, change background colors, and more. In this session, you will explore some of the advantages of publishing to the EPUB format, how to read EPUB  with a number of free tools and how to get started creating your own EPUB publications.

    CAST is working as a part of the web infrastructure team (collaborating with the Director of Digital Infrastructure and Virtual Community and the Director of Operations and Communication for the REVISE Center) to advise and consult on creating tools for the AISL Equity Resource Center, specifically, the materials and products created and posted on the AISL website.

    Clusive is an adaptive and accessible web-based reader designed to engage students in independent reading. Based on the inclusive principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Clusive scaffolds the development of reading skills for students in grades 5 through 12.

  • Three CAST UDL Credentials badges

    Teachers, education leaders, and other professionals, including educational technology companies, can demonstrate their knowledge, application, and incorporation of UDL by earning a credential or product certification from CAST.
