Project Description
CAST is developing tools to change the practices of test developers and to influence legislative policy in student assessments. As high-stakes tests continue to be the norm for measuring student growth and reporting progress, CAST is working to ensure that tests are designed in ways that break down barriers for students with learning disabilities while maintaining the integrity of the assessments. In the policy arena, CAST is working to build the knowledge and interest of states and government agencies regarding the necessity for universally designed large scale assessments.
