Project Description
CAST is partnering with Google to develop tools for Supported Reading and Supported Inquiry to improve adolescent literacy. CAST and Google will initially collaborate in the area of Supported Reading for adolescents by creating and widely disseminating a multimedia authoring tool that enables teachers and students to create supported digital content by applying the principles of Universal Design for Learning. The second phase of the work focuses on helping users develop the expertise that is vital to being literate in the web-based digital world. CAST and Google will collaborate on the development of a Supported Inquiry tool that guides diverse learners through the processes of inquiry, including expert search, analysis, synthesis and expression.
