CAST is thrilled to announce the launch of a Young Adult Advisory Board which will support the community-driven process to update the UDL Guidelines.

In an effort to address systemic barriers and create learning spaces that fully honor and value every learner, we have taken a thoughtful approach for how to update the Guidelines. Over the past 2 years, CAST has connected with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences to learn from their ideas. In July, CAST launches our first Young Adult Advisory Board. This board allows us to engage with young people themselves as we continue with the updating process.

The Young Adult Advisory Board will support and inform the process of reenvisioning the UDL Guidelines through an equity lens, allowing us to center and amplify the experiences and perspectives of young people. The Board is comprised of young adults ages 18-22 who are eager to share their ideas for how to create more equitable learning environments through the dimensions of race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, socioeconomic background, language, disability, and/or citizenship and nationality.

We are thrilled to bring together this group of young people who are so passionate about creating more equitable and just learning environments.
