CAST applauds the passage of The National Apprenticeship Act of 2020 (H.R. 8294), a bill designed to improve access to apprenticeships authorized and funded through the U.S. Department of Labor. CAST is especially pleased the bill includes provisions that improve the accessibility of apprenticeship programs and promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities, including through the use of Universal Design for Learning. We know there is great need for apprenticeships that are designed to reduce barriers and improve access to career training. We thank House Committee on Education and Labor Chair Bobby Scott and Representatives Don Beyer and Ayanna Pressley for their leadership to improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
