Technical Assistance Specialist
As a Technical Assistance Specialist with CAST’s AEM Center, Steve Nordmark focuses on “back end” work with curriculum developers, standards organizations and industry groups, developing partnerships and identifying opportunities to increase the availability of accessible materials and technologies. Steve also serves as COO of the UDL-IRN, a CAST partner in the UDL Credentialing and Certification Initiative (UDLCCI). As the founder of Learning Community Insight, Steve has wide-ranging experience with state-level and corporate initiatives related to UDL, OER, digital learning, competency-based learning, micro-credentialing, MOOCs, and much more. Previous positions include Chief Academic Officer at Knovation and VP for Solutions Management & Development at netTrekker.
Steve’s passion is finding ways to intelligently and intentionally leverage technology to increase the effectiveness of teachers and maximize the personalization for learners. Steve has dedicated his career to advancing the conceptual development and implementation of high-value technology solutions for K-12.
It is Steve’s hope that his passion for serving learners and his background in technology, product development, strategic planning, and business development will enable him to create systemic, positive change in learning opportunities for all children.
