Director of Federal Relations & Advancement Officer
As CAST’s Director of Federal Relations & Advancement Officer, Sherri draws on more than a dozen years of non-profit management and fund-raising experience to support CAST's mission of fostering effective and engaging learning experiences for all.
She works to expand and deepen CAST’s relationships with government and non-profit partners in service of CAST’s strategic priorities, pursuing the shared vision of a future where learning has no limits. Among the activities in her portfolio are over-seeing federal grant-seeking activities, helping steward CAST’s federally-funded centers, and representing CAST’s policy agenda with agency and elected representatives. She also contributes to CAST’s overall resources development strategies, as well as to the organization’s communications and messaging activities.
Sherri has devoted her entire career to the cause of education, working at a variety of educational institutions including universities, museums, and K-12 professional development organizations. She is glad that being part of the CAST team allows her to continue advocating for the design of equitable and inclusive learning experiences across the many educational sectors she cares about.
Sherri was awarded the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential in 2008 and was an active volunteer and Board member with the Philadelphia chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She currently keeps active as a volunteer (on-stage and backstage) within the North Shore’s community theater scene.
I want to be with people who submerge
in the task, who go into the fields to harvest
and work in a row and pass the bags along,
who are not parlor generals and field deserters
but move in a common rhythm
when the food must come in or the fire be put out.
