As a Development Officer, I help execute CAST's federal and private fundraising strategy in support of our research and development in Universal Design for Learning. Major responsibilities include identifying trends in the evolving education and funding landscape, cultivating and stewarding relationships with funders, and supporting CAST project teams through the proposal and report writing process.
Before joining CAST in 2007, I was a college research and writing tutor for six years working with a caseload of students with learning disabilities, many of whom I worked with throughout their four years. Seeing students from all walks of life and circumstance struggling in a host of ways through their college experience inspired me to seek my M.Ed. with the knowledge that a position in education reform would be my passion. Prior to tutoring, I worked in the private sector for the consulting firm Bain & Company for ten years within the corporate training and development group.
"Carol Dweck's work on the growth mindset inspires me. I wish I had read this before raising my own kids!"
